Frequently asked questions We compile all possible questions you may want to ask about your glass shower project as well as the answers to them. 1. What are the requirements that glass door hinged to the site wall? 2. What are the requirements for a custom glass shower base? 3. I am going to use a standard fiberglass base. What should i anticipate? 4. When should i order a shower enclosure with the header? 5. How are glass panels attached to the wall? (Glass clamps installations) 6. How is a gap between glass door and glass panel? 7. What kind of glass is used for glass shower door installations? 8. What kind of hinges do you use?
In order to secure the glass shower doors properly you will need:
Two studs (2” x 4”) and straight wall. It can be out of plumb, but must be straight. Hinges work on pivot points, and these points have to be aligned.
Require the slope of the curb is very important for the elimination of water. No thresholds or vinyl wipers are required if the curb has a slope 1/4’’-3/8’’ which prevents water leakage.
A fiberglass shower base doesn’t have enough slopes for eliminating water leakages on its own.
We offer the flowing possible solutions:
For fiberglass neo-angle shower enclosures base require 135 degree door jamb, shower door threshold and bottom wipe with drip rail for more info please contact.
We only recommend a header system shower enclosure if there is no options to the flowing:
A. Door cannot be hinged to the wall for some reason.
B. The wall is not straight; no wood studs are behind the wall in the middle of curb, etc.
C. Hinge off the door of the glass panel and the panel doesn’t go all the way to the ceiling.
D. The fixed panel cannot be width enough to support standard size door.
There are two ways installation systems:
(U-channel installations)
U-channels are attached to the tile and glass panels are inserted into the u-channel the advantage of u-channel is less cost effective.
Shower doors that are install with glass claps is more frameless outward appearance and much ease of cleaning.
Standard gap between the door and panel is 1/16’’-1/8” it doesn’t require any vinyl seal and silicon bulb seal so this opening is eluding the doors being opening in tow direction inwards and outwards.
We use global standard 10mm (3/8’’) – 12mm (1/2’’) tempered glass that is 6 times stronger a regular glass. For safety reasons, when broken, it shatters into small fragments.
Our glass hardware supplies by CRL one of the largest company in North American.
We use solid forged brass hinges with non-asbestos gaskets. The back plate with three allen screws strongly secure glass panels. This type of hinges has been tested for 200,000 opening cycles.
